Registration
New Driver Education Program
These packages are for new drivers and consists of:
- Class 7 Learner’s Permit written exam if required
- 25 hours of in-person classroom training OR a 25 hour self-study online course
- 10 (Base), 14 (Plus), or 19 (Premium) hours of in-car training with a certified driving Instructor
- 6 hours in-car observation (additional hours available at no cost upon request)
- Class 5 driving exam
- Access to SDPEI learning materials and student handbook
- At-home or school Pickup and Drop-off (Geographic restrictions apply)
- If you are unable to do at-home practice regularly between sessions, we highly recommend that you register for either the Plus or Premium packages to receive additional driving hours with an instructor.
PEI New Driver Education Program: $725+HST ($300 due on registration)
PEI New Driver Education Program Plus: $925+HST ($300 due on registration)
PEI New Driver Education Program Premium: $1125+HST ($300 due on registration)
Licensed Driver Education Program
This package is for experienced drivers with a valid foreign drivers license and consists of:
- “Rules of the Road” written exam if required
- 25 hours of in-person classroom training OR a 25 hour self-study online course
- 10 hours of in-car training with a certified driving Instructor
- 6 hours in-car observation (additional hours available at no cost upon request)
- Class 5 driving exam
- Access to SDPEI learning materials and student handbook
- At-home or school Pickup and Drop-off (Geographic restrictions apply)
PEI Licensed Driver Education Program: $725+HST ($300 due on registration)
Hourly Driving Lessons
Hourly driving lessons are for new or experienced drivers who require a little time with an instructor before completing a driving exam at Access PEI. Hourly lessons packages also include the option to register for co-pilot and vehicle services for driving exams at Access PEI.
All of our hourly driving lesson packages include:
- Verbal Skills Assessment
- Access to SDPEI learning materials and student handbook
- Pickup and Drop-off in our service areas throughout Prince Edward Island.
- Certified driving Instructor and driver training vehicle.
Defensive Driving Course
The Defensive Driving Course (DDC) is an established, proven program designed to produce better drivers! This course is offered in Charlottetown and is intended for experienced drivers. Students who complete this course are eligible for a 3 demerit point reduction on their license. Click here for more information.
The Defensive Driving Course Includes:
- 6 Hours of instructor led virtual class instruction
- Canada Safety Council Student Handbook; and
- Defensive Driving Course Certificate of Completion
