Safe Drivers PEI has adjusted business operations to allow for improved health and safety protocols while adhering to PEI Public Health Guidelines.
Please see below for changes to In-Class and In-Car training.
Changes to in-class instruction sessions:
Sade Drivers PEI 2021 class schedule is now available. Please see Upcoming Classes for course information, dates, and registration.
A limited number of participants will be allowed in each class session and as a result, pre-registration is mandatory.
In-Person classes are being conducted. All locations are set-up with COVID-19 friendly directional entry and exit procedures in place. Hand sanitizer will also be readily available and participants of different households will be kept 6ft apart.
Students will be required to wear a mask and are asked to bring their own if able; Safe Drivers PEI will have masks available for students as needed.
Changes to in-car driving sessions:
Safe Drivers PEI is currently experiencing a surge in demand caused by the COVID-19 shutdown in the spring, as a result, students who are nearest their eligible testing dates are being given priority for scheduling In-Car driving lessons.
Students who have just joined the Safe Drivers PEI driver education program (or just turned 16 years old) should expect some delay in beginning in-car driving.
Students and Instructors are required to wear masks while in-car and all lessons are being conducted with one student at a time. As a substitute for the required 6 hours of observation times, the PEI Department of Highway Safety has permitted students to keep a written log showing 10 hours of observation time with a Co-Pilot from within their household.
Students will be required to submit their observation log sheet to Safe Drivers PEI prior to being tested for their class 5 (G).
